JOHN ARAUJO WINS JULY 2012 5K WITH A TIME OF 19:55
John Araujo won the July 9, 2012 lunch hour 5K with a time of 19:55, six seconds ahead of Enrique San Toyo.   This was
John’s 44th win, but first since April 2010.  Rounding out the top five in today’s race were Tim Hickok 3- 20:19, Randy Parker
4- 20:29, and Nam Ngo 5- 20:59
Last month Dave Parsel and Nelson Slagle used Dave’s wheel to accurately mark the turn around point on for the 5K on the San
Gabriel River Trail.  The turn around point is approximately 17 yards further (34 yards on round trip), now about 15 feet before
reaching   the tennis courts.  It is marked by a gray rock right beside the trail on the right side  with 5K painted on the right side
of the trail.
Twenty-one of the 29 runners in today’s race were 51 or older.
Only Enrique San Toyo set a personal record in today’s race, lowering his personal best by 58 seconds.
My web site host is apparently out of business and my web site is not assessable.  It. could be several months before a new site is
established.  In the meantime, I will be attaching 5K results to my e-mails distributing the race results.
The next 5K is scheduled for 11:50 AM Monday, August 13, 2012 at Gate 510 on the northwest corner of the Boeing Seal Beach
Facility.
