JOSE JACOBO WINS JULY 2018 GUESSTIMATE RACE


     Jose Jacobo won the July 2018 guesstimate race by missing his predicted time
by 1 second.   Rounding out the top five were:  2- Rich Terrell (2 second miss),

3- Peter Lew (3 second miss), 3- Michael Louie ( 3 second miss) and 5- Jason

Woodruff (4 second miss).




      As a group this was the best group of predicted times ever recorded.  

Eight of 24 predicted times (33%) were within 8 seconds and 15 of 24  

(63% were within 50 seconds of their finishing time.

TODD SCHROEDER WINS JULY 5K IN TIME OF 22:37


Todd Schroeder won the July 5K by 54 seconds over runner ups Jose Jacobo and Randy
Parker to  win his second consecutive race on July 16, 2018.   Rounding out the top 5
runners were: 4- Ian Tan 23.44 and 5- Tim Hickok  24:05.  Todd becomes the 30th
runner to win at least 2 lunch hour 5K's.



     There were no personal bests (PB) set in the July race, but I missed a personal best
last month by Ian Tan who lowered his PB by 35 seconds.


       Ed Cohn (81), one of the first 63 runners to participate in our first 5 races in the early 1980's, 
ran his first lunch hour 5K since November 2015 and established two records.  He is the first
male runner over 80 to run our 5K and he now has the 80-89 age group record of 50 minutes.
Soula Thomas is the oldest participant of all time running a 49:38 at age 90 and 4 months.
