DAVE PARSEL WINS AUGUST 5K IN 16:09

     Dave Parsel won his 66th 5K in a time of 16:09 on August 9, 2004.  This is the 31st time in the last 33 races that Dave has won.  Dave missed the other two races.  Rounding out the top five were: Dan Rosales 2- 17:11, John Araujo 3- 17:40, Gary Shapiro 4- 19:02 and Matt McCutchen 5- 19:27. 

     Steve Kent and Tim Hood were the only runners to set personal bests.  Steve lowered his PB by 21 seconds and Tim by 15 seconds. 

      Peter Lew extended his consecutive race streak to 64 straight races (5+ years).  Nelson Slagle has the next longest streak of 45 races. 

 

AEROSPACE, HUNTINGTON BEACH AND ANAHEIM TIE FOR TEAM TITLE

        Aerospace, Huntington Beach and Anaheim all tied for the team title in today’s race.  Aerospace had 65 total places and a total team time of 105:26.  Anaheim had 67 total places and a team time of 105:40 and Huntington Beach had 69 total places and a total team time of 103:39.  Corporate was 4th with 98 places and a team time of 114:43. 

This leaves the 2004 series at Anaheim 3.3, Huntington Beach 2.3 and Aerospace 2.3.   In the cum series Aerospace leads Corporate 129-67-13.

     Pacing Huntington Beach’s team were Dave Parsel 1- 16:09, Gary Shapiro 4- 19:02, Peter Lew 14- 21:41, Steve Kent 22- 22:57 and Larry DiMeo 28- 25:30.  Anaheim was led by John Araujo 3- 17:40, Jim Heller 8- 20:22, Kie Soohoo 15- 21:42 Yihfa Wang 16- 21:51 and Pariss Saedinia 25- 24.05.  Aerospace was paced by: Matt McCutcheon 5- 19:27, David Mills 9- 20:31, Jack Yin 11- 20:36, Tony Trujillo 19- 22:23, and Bob Palmoba 21- 22:39.  Corporate was led by Richard Magana 12- 21:18, Todd Byers 17- 22:12, Lorenzo Ben 18- 22:20, Tim Hood 20- 22:27 and Kimberly Boyd 31- 26:32.  

 

AEROSPACE WINS THE MIXED TEAM EVENT

      Aerospace won the mixed team even with 148 total places and a team time of 145:59.  Aerospace leads the 2004 series 6-1 and the cum series 101-56-36.

      Aerospace was paced by Mark Calkins 24- 23.55, Bob Beachler 27- 25:21, Rick Salas 28- 25:30, Carol Hashiro 34- 32:31 and Rebekah Carver 35- 38:42.  Corporate’s three runners were: Tim Syolowski 32- 26:35, Rich Abele 33- 32:19 and Nelson Slagle 37- 46.28.
