JIM SLAGLE WINS BASEBALL PLAYOFF PREDICTS
Jim (Ohio) Slagle won the 1999 baseball playoff predicts by six points over runner-up Gerry
Hamilton. Jim was one of two to pick the Yankees to win it all and picked up four points on
Gerry on this pick and five more points on Gerry by picking the Mets one place higher.
This is the first time Jim has won the Baseball Playoff predicts although he has won the
basketball playoff results four times.
Five of 6 had both NY and Atl in the final 4. Three had NY in the World Series and four
had Atlanta in the Series. Four of six had underdog Boston in the top 4 teams but only
Al Manzey picked the Mets to win the first round.
On the total runs scored in the World Series, Dick Hammerstrom edged Gerry Hamilton
by one point. There were 30 runs scored in the series. The scores of the four game Yankee
sweep were: 4-1, 7-2, 6-5 and 4-1.
Results: Yankees over Texas 3-0, Atlanta over Houston 3-1, Mets over Arizona 3-1 and
Boston over Cleveland 3-2. 2nd Round: Yankees over Boston 4-1 and Atlanta over
Mets 4-2. World Series - Yankees over Atlanta 4-0.
